Colin Malloy - Music Instructor

Colin is an award-winning percussionist, composer, and audio programmer dedicated to sharing his passion for music with students of all levels. He has a diverse background in drums/percussion, guitar/bass/ukulele, and music technology, he offers a unique and enriching teaching experience. He recently received a PhD in  Music and Computer Science from UVic. He has two Master's degrees in Percussion Performance and Music Technology as well as two Bachelor degrees in Theoretical Math and Music Education. Outside of teaching music lessons, Colin develops audio software and performs on drums and the Caribbean steelpan.

His teaching philosophy centers around nurturing creativity, achieving technical proficiency, and fostering a love of music. He tailors lessons to each student's goals and interests while finding innovative ways to use technology to improve the learning process. His specialty is drums and percussion, but also offers lessons in guitar, bass, ukulele, and piano. Whether you're a beginner looking to start your musical journey or someone looking to refine your skills, Colin is excited to help you in the process.
